Cannabis Infused Honey
Ingredients
1 cup of honey
1 gram of cannabis flower (adjust the dosage based on your preference and tolerance)
Supplies
Cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer
cooking thermometer
pot
Recipe
Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C).
2. Break apart the cannabis flower into smaller pieces, ensuring that it is evenly distributed.
3. Spread the cannabis on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and place it in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. This process, called decarboxylation, activates the THC in the cannabis.
4. Remove the cannabis from the oven and let it cool.
5. Grind the decarboxylated cannabis into a fine powder using a grinder or mortar and pestle.
6. When infusing honey with cannabis, it is best to avoid heating it above 160°F (71°C).In a saucepan, gently heat the honey over low heat until it becomes thin and runny. Avoid overheating the honey as it may affect its taste and texture.
7. Add the ground cannabis to the saucepan and stir well to ensure it is evenly distributed in the honey.
8. Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
9. After 45 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
10. Strain the infused honey through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into an airtight container, ensuring that no cannabis particles remain.
11. Store the infused honey in a cool, dark place to maintain its potency. It should stay fresh for several weeks to a few months.
